  • MIKE PETRIZZI
    MIKE PETRIZZI
    AGEbeautiful
    Artistic Director

Mike Petrizzi, who's had opinions about hair since early childhood. "When I was in kindergarten, my mother told me I asked why the lunch aide's hair was so crunchy looking, he explains. It turns out she had frosted highlights. I always had an eye for it." That eye was honed at the Aveda Institute, and further refined under the mentorship of legendary colorist Beth Minardi, currently a spokesperson for her own haircare line. Her methods and work ethic remain the foundation for Petrizzi's coloring approach to this day. Now a stylist at Manhattan's esteemed De Berardinis Salon, Petrizzi has built an elite clientele of celebrities, fashion editors and NYC insiders. Zotos Professional tapped him to color and style hair for their AGEbeautiful advertising shoots, so it was a natural fit that he would become the brand's Artistic Director. In his role for AGEbeautiful, Petrizzi is leveraging his experience to develop cutting-edge formulas and techniques for the line, and is passionate about their philosophy. "The genius of the brand is that they're speaking very directly to the woman over 40 and giving her what she needs to combat the unique challenges age brings to hair", he explains. "During the aging process, in addition to your face changing, your hair changes. You're dealing with thinning and wiry grays, plus loss of shine and manageability. Older women have different needs than women in their 20's they want to keep their look softer and find out what's flattering on them as their skin tone and bone structure change."
