Want the inside scoop?
People keep asking me about my client Jessica, the one I colored and styled for her stunning wedding in Capri. I’m happy to share with you my now, not-so-secret formula for her sun-soaked blonde color and her imperfectly perfect un-done waves.
Within days of my arrival to Capri, we set up the hair workshop in her glorious hotel suite (those views never got old!) and got down to business. First up was lifting her dark blonde base color to a sandy (never brassy) lighter blonde. Here’s the trick… I used AGEbeautiful 8A Medium Ash Blonde with 20 Volume Developer on her part line and face-frame, then added AGEbeautiful 7A Dark Ash Blonde as I progressed through the sides and below the crown of her head to darken the color. This allows for brilliant blonde by her face and avoids that dreaded orange in the nape. While Jess processed and nibbled on her lightly seasoned lettuce and water (Hey, rabbits live a great life on it) I got to catch up with her delightful family and set up for the next step… a dense foil-wrap of AGEbeautiful Crème-Lightener highlights and lowlights using AGEbeautiful’s new TintShine Sheer Bronze for a super translucent kiss of lowlight. Now with her color perfect, we meticulously added extensions that I custom colored back in NYC.
For her rehearsal dinner I wanted to have a contrast from the formal up-do that the talented Sandra Lovisco created for the wedding day hair. We did a beachy wave with a 1” curling iron, starting at the nape and did alternating direction rolls, to really amp up the tousled effect. Jessica was glowing and danced out the door into her dinner held in a made-just-for–her lemon grove. Bellisima!
