The Nutritionist Reviews Confession: I Had Grey Hair in my 20’s

I have a secret that I’ve been keeping from you. You see, I have a decent amount of grey hairs that are easily hidden when my hair is worn down. That is why you will rarely see photos of me with my hair up because the grey hair will show. I have decided to ignore it for a few years and finally decided to give dying my hair a try. I have had some grey hair for most of my 20’s and of course, it was only getting worse.

Starting at about age 25, I noticed myself growing more and more grey hair. I had noticed a couple here and there a couple of years before, that could easily be pulled out, but since age 25, I noticed more. Since they were so easily hidden by wearing my hair down, I decided not to do anything about it for awhile. My beauty routine is so simple AKA lazy. I didn’t want to have to regularly dye my hair due to time constraints and liking my natural hair color.

I only dyed my hair a couple of times in the past. It was back when I was about 15 and 16 years old. I went a little darker once and a little more red the other time. Overall, I love my brunette hair and don’t want to change much about it.

I just turned 29 years old and a few of the grey hairs are growing on top now and are not 100% hidden when my hair is down so I decided to give dying my hair a try. Plus, a few people have commented on me having more grey hair which honestly did not bother me much and more of made me think that they were rude. Would you tell someone if you noticed that they gained 5 pounds? Of course not!

I am a busy mom that doesn’t often take much time for myself in terms of beauty. I prioritize my kids, my marriage, working on the blog and social media, taking care of my home and exercise. All of these things keep me very busy where I don’t have much extra time or desire to do beauty treatments.

I heard good things about the Zotos Professional AGEbeautiful anti-aging hair color from Sally Beauty and decided to give that a try. As we age, our hair shows 5 signs of aging including lacking color, volume, manageability, moisture and shine. AGEbeautiful is the first haircolor that helps with all 5 signs of aging in your hair. It contains melanin, keratin peptide, silk protein and a conditioning technology to replenish your hair.

I picked up some AGEbeautiful anti-aging hair color in 6G- light golden brown. I took my mom in the store with me and she helped me pick the color that was most similar to my current color as I didn’t want to change the color much. I was surprised to see that my hair would be considered “light” as my hair is pretty dark but I love how it turned out.

I chose the permanent liqui-creme which you purchase with a developer- the volume 20 was right for my hair. Both together were just under $10 which is affordable. I mixed them together in a bowl with a color brush, gloves and wore a shirt that I didn’t mind getting dirty. You apply the color with the brush and wash out 30 minutes later.

It did a great job of covering my grey hair and gave a gorgeous slightly darker color than I previously had. I do feel more confidence having the grey hair gone but I never minded it all that much before. I will see how long it takes for the grey hair to grow back and see if I want to continue to dye it. I hope that I can wait at least a couple of months before doing it again but we will see. I would recommend this product. I am happy with the results and it was affordable and easy to use.
